3 Ingredient Simple Peach Sorbet

June 28, 2011

My kids are infatuated with sorbet and ice cream, especially in the summertime. Since we had some awesome Chilton County peaches from Durbin Farms, I put them to great use in this 3 ingredient recipe for Simple Peach Sorbet from the Southern Living Classic Dessert Cookbook. It’s too easy and tastes fabulous. You can even make this year round using 1 (16-ounce) package of frozen sliced peaches.

Simple Peach Sorbet

Prep: 15 minutes
Yield: 4 cups
Ingredients
4 or 5 fresh peaches, peeled and chopped
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
Preparation
1. Process all ingredients in a blender until smooth, stopping to scrape down sides. Pour mixture into a 9-inch glass square baking dish. Cover and free 3 hours or until firm.

2. Remove pan from freezer; let stand 5 to 10 minutes. Break frozen mixture into chunks; process until smooth. Refreeze, if necessary and serve.

Lovely! And look at that beautiful peach color - my favorite :-). I just made melon sorbet wiht lemon and mint. This might be next, only need for some summer weather to catch up - it's really cold here most of the time ...

How I'd love a bowl of this right now! It's hot and steamy outside and this would help so much!
